Second Open Call 2019 is closed!

After submission, the proposals will be evaluated by a jury consisting of independent experts and representatives of the CloudiFacturing project. This process is planned to last 2 months.

Beginning of December 2019 proposers will be informed about the outcome of the evaluation process. During December 2019 contract signature is foreseen, so that the experiments can start beginning of 2020.

For the second year in a row, CloudiFacturing invited the manufacturing SME's to participate and apply for the Second Open Call.

Now it is time to make a recount and let the experts review the applications received in the last three months.

So, what's next?

CloudiFacturing will evaluate the proposals according to the defined criteria to ensure compatibility of the new experiments with the CloudiFacturing Solution, respecting the usual evaluation goals and criteria of project proposals submitted to the European Commission.

The evaluation will be done involving independent experts from appropriate fields external to the
CloudiFacturing consortium (and the proposed experiments) to assess soundness and impact with
respect to the evaluation criteria, namely:

  • Industrial relevance
  • Dissemination and exploitation strategy,
  • Experiment design,
  • Soundness of technical approach,
  • Quality of work plan,
  • Resources to be committed, and
  • Appropriateness of Consortium.

Summary of the Open Call facts:

Seven or more Application Experiments are planned to be funded in this call with an overall EC contribution of roughly 700 k€.

The time between the closing of the call and the start of the experiments is used for experiment selection by independent experts snd contract set-up between 3rd. parties and the coordinating organization of CloudiFacturing, namely Fraunhofer.

Who is invited to participate via Open Call?

As I4MS is a European initiative for SMEs, especially to promote information and communication technologies for and in manufacturing SMEs, the following types of organizations and companies are entitled to become 3rd parties:

End users (manufacturing companies): SMEs, mid-caps and big companies from the Member States and associated States are entitled to become 3rd parties. These end users pose the use case to be executed in the application experiment proposed via an Open Call.

Independent Software Vendors (ISVs): SMEs, mid-caps and big companies from the Member States and associated States are entitled to become 3rd parties. These ISVs provide the cloudified or to be clodufied software for solving the challenge of the end user.

Engineering consultants: SMEs and mid-caps from the Member States and associated States are entitled to become 3rd parties. These engineering consultants provide the domain expertise to solve the challenge of the end user with the software provided by the ISV. In some cases, a single company may play both roles: one of the ISV and one of the engineering consultant.
Research organizations from the Member States and associated States are entitled to become 3rd parties.

These organizations may contribute their domain expertise to solve the challenge of the end user. Alternatively, they may also support with their skills the extension of the software to be able to solve the end user’s challenge or to cloudify the software. The software may be provided by an ISV, the research organization themselves or an Open Source community.

Any organization from the Member States and associated States that will act as a Digital Innovation Hub is entitled to become a 3rd party.
